Technolgies and testing

MINT products conform to all sorts of standards and certifications - AND we conduct all sorts of tests by first, second and third parties.

We take our products capabilities pretty seriously - often people ask if our products conform to ASTM standards... MINT is in fact   a voting member of ASTM International.

How products degrade

Picture
Degradable technology works through several key phases as part of the products life-cycle.

Phase 1 - the product is programmed with a usable life period, typically two years. At the end of the use by date the product will start to become brittle
Phase 2 - Now the product starts to fragments
and breakdown into pieces.
Phase 3 - The pieces now start to become smaller and smaller
Phase 4 - The "particulates" starts to attract moisture
Phase 5 - The moisture begins the bio-degradation process
Phase 6 - The remaining solids liquify into water, co2 and hummus
Phase 7 - The resulting bio-mass of the product that used to exist is now capable of acting as a soil and plant nutrient and is shown to increase worm activity when placed in soil

Intelligent plastic solutions

With 90% of plastics ever made still in existence, and compounding every year,
it's time to change. Conventional plastics can last up to 500 years and that's a problem. MINT products offer a real solution.

Our MINT degradable products do not need a biologically active environment
to degrade, unlike typical bio-plastic products. Our Bio-degradable products do not need high-heat temperature specific environments to break down - (such as compost) we just need microbe activity. Now that's being environmentally responsible.

Food safe and environmentally friendly our degrading products show
an increase of worm activity in soil and increased plant activity...
now that's making good use of plastic.
